Long time no talk! Sorry guys, I haven’t had a phone for about 3 weeks. I will b getting a new one soon! So excited! Anywho, I’m on my sisters phone because I was missing blogging!
Today I just wanted to share my outfit I wore to church today! Simple pieces make the best outfits! I thrifted the skirt. If I remember correctly, it was about $6.00. I bought the blue top from Ross for $5.99. Cute outfit for less!…my kinda shopping!
I hope your week started off fantastic! This will be a quick post. I did a few purchases at Ross, CVS, and Wal Mart last Friday and wanted to share with you guys!
First off I have been revamping my wardrobe, slowly but surely. I was in Ross in search for a blazer, pencil skirt, and basics. I found two amazing skirts that fit me like a glove and a basic black t-shirt.
While I was in line, I spotted these healthy snacks. Who else gets tricked into buying extra stuff while standing in line from the counter/line displays??? Lol
I saw on Instagram that CVS was having a sale on Wet n Wild products, so you know I had to see what they had! I ended up picking a matte lipstick in the color ‘Sugar Plum Fairy.’ I also ended up in the NYX section because they too was having a sale. I got a soft matte lip cream in the color ‘Abu Dhabi’ and a deep plum lip liner.
As I was doing my grocery shopping for the week at Wal Mart, I headed over to the breast cancer display they had. I ended up with this adorable beanie.
***bonus buy: I bought these “geek-chic” glasses as I call it at a beauty supply store across the street from my Wal Mart.
Late post, I know!!! But I still did my food prep this past Sunday Oct. 5th.
For breakfast I made another homemade granola bar. This time, different recipe. This granola bar is more like a chewy granola bar verses the crunchy one I made previously.( Homemade Granola ) I had this with slices of apple.
2 c oats
2 large, ripe bananas
1 t vanilla
1/4 c of chopped nuts (I chose walnuts)
Cinnamon (I uses pumpkin pie spice)
Heat oven to about 350 degrees and grease a 9 X 9 in Ty baking dish with olive oil. Mash the ripe banana until there are no lumps (almost to a liquidy consistency). Add the rest of ingredients and mix very well. Pat thick mixture into baking dish and cook until set. Enjoy!
For lunch I went for a veggie, refried bean wrap. I spread refried beans on a spinach tortilla and added half an avocado, slices of tomato, olives, and left over brown rice, and of course a little bit of Sriracha sauce.
Dinner was a little bit special this week lol. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money at the grocery store so I decided to eat whatever I could scrimmage up out of my kitchen. Most days I will be having “breakfast for dinner” because I have ton of eggs. Sometimes you just have to work with what you got! I did make some 4 ingredient healthy pancakes that are worth mentioning. They included oats, eggs, pumpkin puree, and ripe banana. Comment below if you would like to know full recipe.
Snacks throughout the week consisted of fruit, fruit with peanut butter, Pretzel Crisps with Spinach Hummus and some homemade apple stacks I concocted lol (shown in picture below)
Hope everyone is having a healthy week! What are some of your healthy meals this week?
Goodbye September…hello October. Although I absolutely love September (my birthday month! and the start of Fall), I love October as well.
October means cooler days, fall fashions, breast cancer awareness, and brown and gold leaves…
I had a few favorites for September. Comment below if you’ve tried some of these products!
#1 Obsession: Revlon’s ColorStay Gel Envy in the color “Hold Em”
This new product from Revlon is suppose to resemble gel nails without the use of light. The color “Hold Em” is perfect for autumn. It is a purpleish color with a brown undertone. When I purchased mine at WalMart I didn’t see the top coat so I just have the nail color. It didn’t get the gel effect probably because I didn’t get the topcoat that goes with it, but let me tell you…it is still lasting on my nails with little to no chipping. I love this color and love that it lasts. Once I get the topcoat I’m sure it will be even better!
#2 Obsession: Wet N’ Wild Mega Matte Lipstick in the color “Red Velvet”
I know this isn’t a new product, but it is new to me. I have about 4 other Mega Matte lippies and knew I would love this one as well. This color is a reddish color that is not too dark or too light. Perfect for the fall also. The matte consistency in the Wet N’ Wild line is a wearable matte. It is not drying to the lips and lasts a long time. Can’t wait to get some more. If you love matte lips and budget friendly makeup this is a must try!
#3 Obsession: Queen Helene’s Super Cholesterol and Shea Moisture Curl and Shine Conditioner
I have been loving these 2 products together as a deep conditioner for my hair. It softens and makes my hair so easy to detangle. My wash days go very smoothly because of these products. I usually add an oil like coconut or avocado oil and the mixture is perfection. Relaxed or Natural, these products are a must try!
#4 Obesession: Giant Geek glasses
Sooo yea you probably will see me in these lovlies the whole fall season. I just love these with a scarf, tights, and some boots. These glasses adds personality to any outfit while keeping it casual. Love, Love, Love. On the lookout for some different kinds.
#5 Obsessions: Revlon ColorStay Foundation for oily/combination skin
Yes, another Revlon product! I took a break from this foundation because I was using bb cream as a foundation during the summer season. I decided to go back to this and wow did I love it all over again! This is a full coverage foundation that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It covers up everything while keeping my face matte all day! Best drug store foundation that I have ever tried! I’m in the color 400 caramel.
Last but not least…
#6 Obession: anything pumpkin spice!
The end of September means pumpkin spice season!!! I have never been into pumpkin spice during the past, but Starbucks definitely started a sensation with their pumpkin spice lattes. I add pumpkin pie spice to my homemade granola, smoothies, pancakes, coffee…anything I can get my hands on. I plan on trying out a pancake recipe with pure pumpkin filling, so be on the look out!
Guys! I have to tell you about this awesome place I went to yesterday. You know how I have raved about Jonathon’s in Oak Cliff, right? Check #DallasGoodEats:Jonathon’s for review. Well right next door to Jonathon’s is a place called Spiral Diner & Bakery. It is a 100% vegan and mostly organic restaurant that serves food that appeals to both herbivores and carnivores. It is located on 1101 N. Beckley Avenue Dallas, Texas near the Bishop Arts District.
I was trying to find a “cheat day” place where I could eat out but still feel like I am eating healthy foods and BINGO I found it! Their food is so good! They serve foods like nachos, quesadillas, burgers, wraps, and salads; all vegan of course. I couldn’t believe it was all vegan though because it was so tasty. I got the Hot Hummus wrap. My sister got quesadillas and my best friend got the quinoa with black beans dinner.
And did I mention they serve organic ice cream with their homemade desserts! My sister and I shared the turtle brownie.
This place is a must try! You don’t have to be a vegan or vegetarian to enjoy the foods here. This will definitely be a place I frequent when I want to eat out. Check Yelp for more reviews and pictures!
